Frequently Asked Questions about the Florida Concealed Handgun License

If you live in a state that does not issue concealed carry permits, or in a state that has limited reciprocity with other states, then by obtaining the Florida Non-resident CCW Permit, you will greatly expand your concealed carry options.

Our 3-hour class is given regularly at the following quality indoor shooting ranges and training centers:

Please check the class location dates at the bottom of this page.

Please call (215-938-7283) or email us if you would like to make an arrangement to take the class with Dr. Eimer in a small group, or if you wish to make an appointment to take the training on an individual, one-on-one basis.

  PLEASE NOTE:
If you are a Pennsylvania resident, that is, you live in PA, you should obtain a Pennsylvania Concealed Firearms Permit if you want to legally carry a concealed firearm in Pennsylvania. This is the smart thing to do and what we recommend. However, with that said, the Pennsylvania Attorney General and the Pennsylvania State Police have recently declared that Pennsylvania will recognize any valid Concealed Firearms Permit from any state with which the Commonwealth of PA has a reciprocity agreement regardless of the license/permit holder's state of residence. Florida and Virginia are two of the states with which Pennsylvania has reciprocity agreements.

" Note:  It has come to the attention of the Office of Attorney General that there has been confusion over the applicability of Pennsylvania's reciprocal privileges with regard to the residency status of an individual who has been issued a valid license/permit. It is the position of the Office of Attorney General that recognition within Pennsylvania is based on the issuance to an individual of a valid license/permit by the reciprocal contracting state, and not on the license/permit holder's place of residence." Florida Firearm Reciprocity Agreements.

So, regardless of what state you live in, you can carry legally in PA if you have a Florida Resident or Non-Resident Firearm Carry Permit or a Virginia Resident or Non-Resident Firearm Carry Permit.

Having both the Florida and Virginia Carry Permits gives you maximum flexibility. These in our opinion are the two best Concealed Carry permits to have if you live on the East Coast. Reciprocity agreements between states, states' laws and the states' Attorney Generals' and State Police interpretations of the law and reciprocity agreements are subject to change. By obtaining more then one Non-Resident Concealed Carry Permit, you give yourself the most leeway so that you can protect your carry privileges. The Florida and the Virginia Non-Resident Carry Permits give you the most leeway. We recommend that you obtain both of these Non-Resident Permits.

We are now offering the class and the paperwork for the Non-Resident Virginia Carry Permit in addition to that for the Non-Resident Florida Carry Permit. See the fee schedule below.
