Florida & Virginia CCW Permit Application Process
1) Receive paperwork when you come to the class
2) Take class if you need proof of training. Complete class.
3) Read Chapter 790 Florida Statutes and Virginia Law Booklet.
4) Assemble everything: Pre-addressed Envelope, Fee (Certified or Bank Check or Money Order), Passport Photograph, Completed Fingerprint Card, Proof of Training, Application with notarized signature (For Virginia only: Also include a copy of a Government ID).
5) Mail to: Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing, PO Box 6687, Tallahassee, FL 32314. Check amount: $117.00
6) Mail to: Virginia Firearms Transaction Center, Nonresident CHP Permits, Criminal Justice Information Services Division, PO Box 85141, Richmond, VA 23285-5141. Check amount: $100.00
7) The Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License is valid for a period of 7 years, while the Virginia Concealed Weapon or Firearm License is valid for 5 years. Approximately 90 days prior to the license's expiration date, the Division automatically sends a renewal notice to the address on file for the license holder.
